Fred Hrkac

Leads team responsible for ASPI supplier and provider programs in Eastern Europe, Asia, and Middle East Africa markets.

Fred Hrkac is co-founder and Managing Director, International for Access Strategy Partners Inc., with responsibility for Eastern Europe, Asia, and Middle East Africa (EMEA) markets. Fred’s career in medical devices spans 27 years and covers much of the globe, with the majority of his time spent in Europe, Middle East Africa, Japan and Southeastasia, as well as Canada and the U.S.

Fred's career in medical devices began at Johnson & Johnson, where he became a Managing Director at age 32 and managed the entire J&J portfolio of general surgery and cardiology/electrophysiology products. He was part of a small team that started and grew the J&J businesses in Central/Eastern Europe in the 1990’s, from $22M in revenue to over $500M in seven years.  Fred became International Vice President for Biosense Webster which grew from $200M in sales in 2001 to over $2B today.

After a 15-year career at J&J, Fred became President & CEO of Sorin Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM), where he led the internationalization of the company into regions including the US, Japan and EMEA. He then became President of Boston Scientific EMEA, managing a $1.8B P&L that covered the entire Boston Scientific portfolio in over 65 EMEA countries.

In 2014 Fred joined Biosensors, a small Singapore-based stent company. Leading the company’s global commercialization, Fred and the senior management team privatized the company with partners and sold it for more than $1B in 2018.

Fred resides in Zagreb, Croatia. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario Canada.
